🎌 Drag Racing is now live in Grand Mobile!

Updated over a week ago

The Drag Racing event has launched in the game — a standalone game mode with its own logic, economy, and progression system. This is not just a series of races, but a full gameplay cycle: from choosing your starting car to competing in ranked races and fighting for unique rewards.

Below is a detailed overview of the event with a focus on practical value — so you clearly understand how it works, where the limitations appear, and how to progress efficiently.

Event structure and player progression

Drag Racing is built as a consistent progression path, where each stage logically leads to the next.

You start with story races, gradually upgrading your car. At the early stages, resources are sufficient, but closer to the middle of the story, limitations begin to appear: Cash becomes scarce first, followed by parts and Gasoline.

This is intentional — it introduces the player to all core mechanics of the event.

After completing the story, the main focus shifts to ranked races, where not only upgrades matter, but also consistency, planning, and smart resource management.

How to start

When you enter the game, you will see a notification about the start of Drag Racing.
On the main screen, the event icon with a countdown timer is displayed — this is your entry point to the event menu.

On your first visit, the tutorial starts automatically. It introduces all basic mechanics and gradually unlocks sections, preventing you from skipping important stages.

Choosing your starting car

At the beginning, you must choose a car to complete the story campaign.

Available options:

  • Three free cars with similar stats (different styles: muscle, tuner, exotic);

  • One unique car for Grand Coins with improved performance.

Key points:

  • Free cars have 1 rarity star;

  • The paid car has 3 stars;

  • Star rating is increased using car cards;

  • Purchasing the paid car unlocks access to the paid Season Pass track.

Your choice is not final — later you can unlock and upgrade other cars as well.

Story races

The story consists of 30 races, including 5 boss races.

Each next race is more difficult than the previous one and requires a better-upgraded car.

For completing story races, you receive:

  • Cash — the main event currency;

  • Parts for upgrading components;

  • Additional rewards for key milestones.

After defeating each boss, you move further along the storyline. Once the full campaign is completed, the boss’s car becomes available with a base star rating.

Completed story races can be replayed — but they cost Gasoline and only reward Cash.

Repeatable races and limitations

Repeatable races are the main source of Cash after the early story stages.

However, they consume Gasoline.

Gasoline:

  • Regenerates automatically over time;

  • Can be obtained by watching ads (limited number of times);

  • Can be purchased for Grand Coins.

As you progress, you will regularly face situations where:

  • Cash is no longer enough for upgrades;

  • Gasoline runs out;

  • Certain upgrades require parts of specific rarity.

This is a normal part of the gameplay loop. At such moments, it is important either to wait for resources to regenerate or to plan purchases and races more thoughtfully.

Race mechanics: what affects the result

The outcome of a race depends not only on car stats, but also on player actions.

Before the start, engine warm-up is available. If the tachometer needle is in the green zone at launch, the car receives a speed boost. A bad start, on the contrary, reduces acceleration efficiency.

During the race:

  • Up to five gear shifts are available;

  • Successful shifts maintain or increase acceleration;

  • Early or late shifts reduce efficiency;

  • Mistakes in the red zones of the tachometer are punished more severely.

As a result, accurate and careful driving allows you to win races even with a less upgraded car.

Garage and car upgrades

The garage offers two main upgrade directions.

Car parts

Each car consists of five parts:

  • Engine;

  • Turbocharger;

  • Transmission;

  • Wheels;

  • Suspension.

Each part has up to 9 upgrade levels.
Upgrades require Cash and parts of different rarities.

As part levels increase, their contribution to the car’s overall speed grows.

Car star rating

Star rating is one of the most important parameters.

Increasing star rating:

  • Requires cards of the specific car;

  • Provides a more noticeable speed boost than upgrading individual parts.

Car cards can be obtained from:

  • The shop;

  • Loot boxes;

  • Ranked modes.

Event shop

The shop plays a key role in progression.

Available sections:

  • Parts (rotating showcase);

  • Car cards;

  • Loot boxes;

  • Ranked shop;

  • Boosters;

  • Season Pass.

Showcases refresh by timer but can be refreshed early for Grand Coins. Loot boxes allow you to obtain parts and cards of different rarities, including legendary ones.

Ranked races

Ranked races unlock after completing at least 10 story races.

Features:

  • Participation does not require Gasoline;

  • Opponents are based on real players;

  • There is a limit on the number of races per hour.

For participation you receive:

  • Rating points;

  • Rating Badges — the currency of the ranked shop.

Leagues and progression

The player starts in the lowest league and moves up based on race results.
At the end of each ranked period, some players move up, some stay, and some move down.

The higher the league, the more valuable the rewards and the tougher the competition.

Season Pass

The event includes two Season Passes:

  • Story Pass — progresses as you complete races. Includes free and paid reward tracks.

  • Ranked Pass — unlocks after completing the story and progresses through ranked race activity.

Both Season Passes contain 30 reward levels and include resources, cards, currency, and other useful items.

Tips to avoid common mistakes

  • Before progressing through story races, upgrade parts and increase star rating;

  • Distribute upgrades evenly instead of focusing on a single part;

  • Use repeatable races as a stable source of Cash;

  • Spend Rating Badges consciously, understanding their real value;

  • Enter ranked races only with a sufficiently prepared car;

  • Approach ranked races systematically, planning race series and resource usage.
